BECOME A SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE
A letter from Board Chair Rob Reimer.
Calling all candidates for school board
The time is fast approaching for voters to decide who will shape and direct local education for the next three years. Elections for school trustee take place October 18, 2010 and it's not too early to think about who you would like to see as candidates for this important office.Having good trustee candidates in the upcoming election is critical because school boards make decisions about how education is delivered locally - including the operation of schools. School board policies directly impact the development of our children and affect community interests.
That's why, on behalf of our board, I would encourage people with an interest in children and a vision for local education to consider running for trustee. Nomination day is September 20, 2010.
Our central office has information about becoming a school board trustee. You may also wish to visit the Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools website www.wrps.ab.ca or visit the ASBA website at www.asba.ab.ca. We encourage people to stop by or call to have the information sent to you. Trustees are also available to speak about trusteeship. Call our central office number at 780-352-6018 for more information.
Yours truly,
Rob Reimer
