Accountability Pillar Survey
Each year Alberta Education sends out surveys to our Grade 7 students and parents. These surveys provide valuable information for the school and school authority. If you receive a survey please take the time to complete it. All surveys are anonymous. Following is a short message from Alberta Education:
As an annual check-up on the education system, the Accountability Pillar provides an opportunity for Alberta Education and school authorities to ensure that we’re equipping students for success.
The Accountability Pillar uses a set of 16 indicators consisting of surveys of students, parents and teachers on various aspects of quality; student outcomes such as dropout and high school completion rates; and provincial assessments of student learning.
From January to the end of February, Alberta Education will be conducting the annual Accountability Pillar Survey. In January, parents of students in grade 7 will receive a survey from Alberta Education. In February, students in grade 7 and all teachers will be completing their surveys online at school.

Our Flag in Kandahar
Our flag made it to Afghanistan where it is flying over Kandahar Air Field. We just received this from the 1MP Regiment. They are looking forward to returning to Canada.
You may recall that the Regiment visited Ecole Queen Elizabeth last year to be presented with the flag which was signed by many students. The Regiment will return the flag to the school in a ceremony this year. Check out the photos in the Photo Gallery from their first visit last May.
Emphasis for 2011-12
We are in our third year of a three year Education Plan which is designed to promote fitness and nutrition at Ecole Queen Elizabeth. This year will see opportunities for students to enroll in a Sports Excellence program which will provide them with individual training plans and increased access to our Fitness Centre and for a Food Prep course to continue to provide nutritious lunches several times per week.
