High School Credit
Grade 8 and 9 students at Ecole Queen Elizabeth Junior High School have the opportunity to take High School Credit courses based on their previous year's academic performance.
Grade 9:
Career Transitions 1210: Personal Safety Management (1 credit)
This course looks at the responsibility of managing your own personal safety. Young workers need to be aware of the risks associated in the workplace. Injuries can be prevented using the right combination of education, engineering, enforcement and economic incentives.
This course includes a mandatory Emergency First Aid course delivered by St. John's Ambulance.
Tourism 1010: The Tourism Industry (1credit)
This course looks at an overview of the tourism industry including how the industry is structured and what makes it work. A study of local tourism opportunities is part of the course.
Grade 8:
ElectroTech 1010:Electro Assembly (1 credit)
This course examines Basic Electricity and Circuit Construction, Analysis and Careers. Approximately 30% of the course time will be enrichment in the area of circuit board construction, advanced computing or basic robotics.
